Construction is officially underway on the reconstruction of the Arthur P. Clay Community Center in Kenner.

The new center will restore an important resource for families and residents in South Kenner, with support from the City of Kenner, Jefferson Parish, and InclusivCare.

For VergesRome Architects, the project also marks our fifth project with InclusivCare, continuing a relationship that includes clinic projects in Marrero and Avondale.

We look forward to seeing the Arthur P. Clay Community Center return as a place that serves the Kenner community for years to come.

Municipal Traffic Court received the Historic Preservation-Restoration Award of Merit at the 2026 AIA New Orleans Design Awards!

Originally constructed in the mid-1960s, the building presented the challenge of updating a working judicial facility while respecting its existing architecture. The jury shared the following comments on the project:

“The jury recognized the challenge of modernizing an existing judicial building while preserving the integrity and character of an important mid-century structure. Throughout the project, a clear and consistent design thread creates spaces that feel clean and timeless, while respecting the existing architecture and allowing it to remain at the forefront. The jury especially admired how the renovation transformed the building into a more inviting and comfortable interior experience, balancing restraint with thoughtful intervention in a way that felt both beautiful and enduring.”

Thank you to AIA New Orleans Center for Architecture and Design and the jury for recognizing Municipal Traffic Court with this award.

When Hurricane Ida made landfall with winds exceeding 150 mph, Les Maisons de Bayou Lafourche was about 95% complete. While surrounding communities experienced extensive damage, the development sustained less than $4,000 in repairs and no structural failures. It was a real-world demonstration that careful planning, quality construction, and resilient design make a measurable difference.

Interior Designer Kris Lowry recently hosted members of IIDA Delta Regional Chapter for a tour of the renovated Tulane University Athletics Center. The updates reflect Tulane Athletics' investment in spaces that strengthen recruiting, support daily operations, and enhance the student-athlete experience through purposeful, functional design.

A civic building reimagined to better serve the people who rely on it every day.

Introducing the Municipal & Traffic Court, VergesRome’s recently transformed from the original 1960s facility into a modern judicial environment centered on security, functionality, and flexibility.

From enhanced safety measures to thoughtful material and design interventions, every element was approached with the goal of creating a more efficient, user-friendly civic experience.

The Exchange Pickleball + Bar was was once a blighted lot in Uptown New Orleans. It has been transformed into a vibrant destination where sport and social connection come together in one energetic community space. Thoughtful design turned an underutilized site into a recreational amenity for the Lower Garden District community

Before the transformation. 🏗️

Originally constructed in the 1960s, the New Orleans Municipal Traffic Court was a product of its time. While the building served the city for decades, evolving operational needs called for a new approach to security, flexibility, and functionality.

VergesRome Architects reimagined the midcentury civic building to better serve the public, court staff, and judicial operations, creating a safer, more efficient, and adaptable environment.
