Meet our September volunteer of the month: Margaret. Margaret has been volunteering at the Meal Center for about one year. When she retired and moved back to Connecticut, she had free time and contacted the Meal Center and spoke with Mark. Mark welcomed her into the Tuesday lunch group. Since then, Margaret has looked forward to volunteering every Tuesday for the lunch meal. Margaret enjoys every aspect of her time at the Meal Center: the chopping, prep work, the camaraderie with the other volunteers and the efficiency of their service, serving the patrons, and even cleaning up after the meal. Margaret especially enjoys serving the patrons and seeing how appreciative they are of the delicious and nutritious food. She has a lot of respect for kitchen manager, Mark, and his helper, Corey. Margaret encourages anyone who has the time to come and give volunteering in the kitchen a try! Thank you, Margaret, for your happy and generous service to the hungry in the New London community.
