Progress update from the PepperPlex

The new office is rapidly taking shape on-site. The structural steel framing is officially up, and the sheet metal installation is now complete on the new office and meeting facility.

Seeing those striking, modern split roof lines move from the drawing board to reality is incredibly rewarding.

Big updates are taking shape at the New Iberia Pepperplex!

Our latest design work at the ballpark is officially coming to life, starting with the brand new office and meeting facility. Structural framing and foundation work is all complete and ready for the exterior cladding materials. A striking new entry feature for the improved New Iberia Pepper Plex. But the biggest game-changer for athletes and fans? A completely upgraded pedestrian experience.

We’ve designed dedicated entry zones from the parking areas and extensive new sidewalk networks to create clean, handicap-friendly, “out-of-the-mud” routes. Whether you’re pushing a stroller, rolling a heavy gear wagon, or navigating the complex after a classic South Louisiana downpour, the new pathways ensure that getting to the fields is safe, accessible, and easy for everyone.

Decades in the making!

The ultimate reward? Seeing it officially earn its Main Street and National Register designation! It has been an honor to help preserve our community's rich history while designing for a vibrant, economically strong future. Thank you to everyone who made this milestone possible!

Iberia Parish’s New Iberia Main Street program has earned 2026 national accreditation from Main Street America, recognizing its success in downtown revitalization, historic preservation, small business support, and community-driven economic development efforts.

Exciting project news to announce for our four-legged friends in Iberia Parish!

Construction is starting soon on the brand-new 4,500 sq ft animal adoption facility!

This much-needed space will feature over 30 new kennels with both indoor and outdoor use, plus dedicated areas for adoptions, facility support, and offices.

The building will be constructed of low-maintenance, durable materials, ensuring a safe, lasting, and welcoming environment to help connect these pets with their forever families.

Stay tuned for more updates as the site work begins! We can't wait to see this project break ground.

Exciting updates from the New Iberia PepperPlex!

The new batting cage pavilion is really starting to take shape! The steel framing is nearly complete, and the brand-new artificial baseball and softball field turf is nearly finished and looking pristine.

We can't wait to see local youth athletes putting this amazing new facility to use.

This week marks some fantastic structural progress out at the New Iberia Pepperplex.

Workers have cleared out the old batting cages, and foundation work is officially underway for a brand-new shade pavilion over the new cages. Right alongside it, crews are busy pouring the concrete sub-base for the new artificial turf field.

Just as importantly, we are focused on upgrading the overall site flow. New sidewalks are currently being poured to provide vastly improved, accessible pathways directly from the parking areas to the fields.

It is incredibly rewarding to see these functional design upgrades take shape, setting the foundation for an elevated experience for athletes and families in New Iberia.

Allain Architects is honored to be leading a multi-phase restoration that will breathe new life into this historic performing arts venue—preserving its legacy while preparing it for generations to come.

Originally built in 1950, the Louisiana Sugarcane Festival building has long stood as a centerpiece of culture, celebration, and community. Now, it’s time to begin its next act.
