🎉 Today marks 10 years of New Hartford Safe & Lock Co.! 🎉

It’s hard to believe that a full decade has passed since I started this business. What began as a dream has grown into something I am incredibly proud of, and I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family, friends, customers, and our amazing community.

While today marks 10 years under the New Hartford Safe & Lock Co. name, the history behind our business stretches back much further.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of carrying on the legacy of several respected locksmith businesses that served our area before me. Through the acquisition of Miers Safe & Lock Co. (which was previously Pendleton Lock since 1924, and Smyth before that dating back to 1901), and Haddad’s Locksmithing, LLC., I was honored to preserve not only their customer bases, but also many of their records, keys, equipment, knowledge, and traditions. Those businesses—and the locksmiths who built them—laid the foundation for generations of security in our community.

Over the past 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of helping thousands of homeowners, businesses, schools, churches, municipalities, emergency services, and countless others with everything from lockouts and rekeying to safe & vault service, automotive keys, master key systems, hardware, access control, high-security hardware, and so much more.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted me with your security, recommended my business, or simply supported me along the way. Your confidence means everything.

As I celebrate this milestone, I remain committed to providing honest, dependable, and professional locksmith services while preserving the rich history of the trade in our community.

Here’s to the first 10 years—and to many more to come.

PSA/BUYER BEWARE

We are showing this video of “scammers” not because they are common in our area, but because KeyMe is a company that regularly shows up on internet searches for locksmith companies. KeyMe is primarily, around here, a key cutting kiosk found at local big box stores to duplicate simple keys. They offer service partnerships with “locksmiths” and will often show up first on an internet search for an emergency or local locksmith.

While there is no such thing as a “pick-proof” lock, yet… there are locks that certainly will require overt or destructive entry techniques to open, either due to high security features, some ‘smart’ technology, or mechanical malfunction. We pick or use special tools to bypass about 97% of the locks we are called to open for lockout calls.

Don’t get caught up with 1-800 numbers. Call a local locksmith and be sure that who is coming to help you is a legitimate locksmith.
