The Modoc Tribal Enterprises Authority - Federal Solutions Group and our affiliated companies will be closed on Monday, October 13th in observance of Indigenous Peoples' Day.

October 13th is officially recognized as Columbus Day, but it is also increasingly observed across the country as Indigenous Peoples’ Day—a designation that holds deep meaning for all of us at Eagle TG, Harpy Technologies, MTEA-FSG, Red Cedar TG, Walga MTE and our partners within the Modoc Nation.

As Native American-owned companies, our revenues and profits support the Modoc Nation, helping fund a wide range of community programs that benefit tribal members and other Native communities. This day serves as a powerful reminder of our shared history, the resilience of Indigenous peoples, and the ongoing commitment to honoring tribal sovereignty and cultural heritage.

A Brief Summary of the Modoc Nation

The Modoc Nation’s ancestral homeland spans Northern California and Southern Oregon, a region of lakes, lava beds, and forests. For generations, the Modoc lived as skilled hunters, fishermen, and gatherers. However, in the mid-1800s, westward expansion and federal policies led to the loss of their land and their forced removal in 1873 to Indian Territory (present-day Oklahoma).

Despite these hardships, the Modoc people endured. After regaining federal recognition in 1978, the Modoc Nation has flourished—investing in education, healthcare, and economic development. Today, they lead thriving enterprises in IT, construction, aviation, healthcare, gaming, and media, all while preserving their culture and supporting their community
