With 2026 approaching, our team has been looking back on the projects that made this year special.

For Mindy Long, one of the most meaningful was Steeple Chase Park in the City of Kyle, a project full of exciting “firsts.” Mindy created three design options for residents to vote on, and more than 350 community members voted and ultimately chose the Hedra concept “by a landslide.”

The finished playground features Hedra structures for ages 2–5 and 5–12, ZipKrooz, We-Go-Round, Rhapsody Musical Instruments, sensory panels, and plenty of shade for year-round play. Mindy also partnered with Sean Draper at ForeverLawn North San Antonio on multicolored synthetic turf to create a comfortable, safe surface for all visitors.

This project also included extensive site improvements such as ADA sidewalks, play curbs, drainage, irrigation, planters, and new seating areas, a milestone Mindy was proud to help lead.

On August 29th, Whirlix, ForeverLawn, and the City of Kyle celebrated the grand opening with a community barbeque attended by more than 300 residents. Since then, the playground has stayed full of families enjoying this vibrant new space. As Mindy shared, they “created a space for all ages and abilities to play together,” and seeing that come to life has been incredibly rewarding.

Mindy recently completed her second project with the city, Waterleaf Park, and is now designing a large playground for the upcoming Kyle Sports Complex.
