How to spot a tree that may be dying or developing rot.

Many trees show warning signs long before they fail, but those signs are often overlooked until a storm or strong wind causes major damage. Knowing what to look for can help prevent property damage and keep your landscape safe.

⚠️ dead or falling branches, especially in the upper canopy

🍂 sparse leaves, early leaf drop, or sections of the tree that failed to leaf out 

🍄‍🟫 mushrooms or fungal growth around the base of the trunk or on exposed roots

🕳️ large cavities, hollow spots, or visible decay in the trunk

🪾 cracks or splits in the trunk or major limbs

One of the biggest concerns is that many trees can appear healthy on the outside while severe rot is occurring internally that’s why regular inspections are important, especially for mature trees, and those that have experienced storm damage.

Our team recently completed a full flower bed cleanup for this customer, removing all the w**ds and overgrowth to create a fresh,clean, landscape ready for new life. 

To give the bed year-round, beauty, color, and texture we installed a variety of plants, including Texas Sage, red salvia, Esperanza, Nandina, gulf muhly grass, and agave. These plants are not only beautiful, but also well suited for our Texas climate providing great balance of color, durability, and low maintenance.

A well, designed landscape starts with proper preparation and by cleaning out the w**ds and refreshing the planting beds, We’ve created a space that will continue to grow and thrive for years to come.

We recently completed a beautiful magnolia tree installation for one of our customers, planting several new trees to enhance the properties landscape and provide lasting beauty for years to come.

Part of this Hackberry tree came down during a recent storm and upon inspection we found internal rot throughout which had significantly weakened the tree’s structure overtime. 

Due to the extent of the damage, and rot, the safest solution was to remove the entire tree.

🌿 New Additions

We just wrapped up a project planting two beautiful 30-gallon Mexican White Oaks for a client!

These trees are a fantastic choice for our area because they are:
• Drought Tolerant: Perfectly suited for the Texas heat once established.
• Fast Growing: They provide a lush, spreading canopy in no time.

Fresh Look for a customer 🌿

We finished up a beautiful flowerbed refresh, Here’s a breakdown of what we tackled:

Front Yard:
• Complete w**d removal
• Planted 5-gallon Yaupon Hollies to add some classic, hardy structure.
• Added 1-gallon Passionfruit Lantanas for a vibrant pop of color that loves the Texas sun.

Back Yard Refresh:
• Detailed w**d pulling throughout the beds.
• Finished off with a fresh layer of mulch to help with moisture retention and give it that crisp, polished look.

Whether it’s full planting or just a seasonal cleanup, a little TLC goes a long way for your curb appeal!

Backyard glow-up complete 🤠🌿

We took this space from plain to picture-perfect with a full makeover:
• Fresh Bermuda grass laid
• New flower bed created
• Planted 2 beautiful crepe myrtle trees & some flax lilies
• Finished it off with a clean layer of mulch

Nothing better than bringing a backyard back to life just in time for those warm Texas days ☀️🌱
