50KA (50,000 Amperes) Home Surge protector installed.
Customer had a lightning strike within a 100’ of their home last month. Knocked out o-op transformer, a TV, the well pump and a couple other things.
The well pump alone was near $2,000 repair.

These so called “self contained” wall outlets are notorious for causing electrical issues in newer manufactured homes.
I cannot for the life of me understand how the National Electrical Code allows this.

We, after 2.5 hrs of pulling outlets and switches, crawling around under the house, were able to find the issue.
These stab in type receptacles are dangerous and unreliable.
