We’re proud to spotlight the Kolton Kaiser Foundation and its incredible Therapy K-Dog Program, which is kicking off the 2026–2027 school year with 14 therapy dogs serving schools and communities throughout Southern Indiana.
This one is especially close to home for our team at IRC.

Last year, while replacing the roof at Hazelwood Middle School, our Regional Vice President of Sales, Wayne Hampton, learned about the impact their Therapy K-Dog, Dunkin, was making on students and staff. After seeing that impact firsthand, Wayne and the IRC team knew this was something we wanted to be part of.

That connection led IRC to become the first local business to sponsor a Therapy K-Dog through the Kolton Kaiser Foundation.

Meet Clover! 🐶

Clover is currently completing her training and will soon join Floyds K***s Elementary School, where she'll provide comfort, encouragement, and a calming presence for students and educators.

We're grateful to the Kolton Kaiser Foundation for the work they're doing, and to Chris and Casey Street for opening their hearts and becoming Clover's handler family.

At IRC, we spend our days protecting the buildings where people learn, work, and gather. Supporting the people inside those buildings matters just as much.

One of the worst times to learn you need a new roof? After next year's capital budget is already set.

Commercial roofs usually give you information before they give you an emergency. Recurring repairs. Wet insulation. Aging details. Drainage issues. Sections deteriorating faster than others. The question is whether anyone is looking at that information early enough to do something with it.

If you're heading into budget planning, this is a good time to ask:
What are we likely to spend on this roof next year?
And just as importantly what could be coming three to five years from now?

Roof evaluations aren't only about finding problems. They can help turn a very large unknown into something you can actually plan around.

Quick question for facility managers:

If someone asked you for the complete history of your roof tomorrow, how much could you actually hand them?

Original installation date. Roof system. Warranty. Past repairs. Leak history. Inspection reports. Photos. Areas that have been patched more than once. That information tends to end up everywhere, an old email, someone's desk drawer, a folder from the previous facility manager.

Until you need it. A good roof file gives you something incredibly valuable: context.
Instead of starting from zero every time there's a problem, you can see what's happened, what's changed and where the same issues keep showing up. The roof itself matters. Knowing its history matters too. IRC is not a one and done roofing contractor, we are here for the long haul.
