Since 1980, MAC Construction has grown from a start-up excavation company into one of the most trusted names in civil construction by continually evolving to meet the needs of its customers and community.

That commitment to building stronger communities extends far beyond construction projects. Through the support of MAC Construction & Excavating and the Louisville MSD Community Benefits Program, VIPS received a $29,100 investment to support our Early Childhood Intervention Program.

This funding helps provide qualified, vision-specific teachers to children and families throughout Jefferson County, bringing support directly into the home. By partnering alongside parents, VIPS helps children who are blind or have low vision build the foundational skills and confidence needed to reach their highest potential.

45 YEARS of building, growing, and creating lasting relationships! 45 YEARS of building quality projects impacting our region! 45 YEARS of giving back to our communities!

As part of MAC Construction’s 45th Anniversary celebration, owners Travis and Chad Unruh sat down to reflect on the journey that brought us here — from the company’s early days to the people, values, and vision that continue to move MAC forward today.

This milestone is a testament to the employees, families, owners and partners who have been part of the journey along the way. We’re proud of our past and excited for what’s ahead as the 45th Anniversary celebration continues.

The 45th Anniversary celebration continued through May at MAC Construction as we began wrapping up our 45th Anniversary prize deliveries! We spent more time out in the field connecting with our crews, sharing the excitement, and delivering the final round of prizes. Team members once again tested their MAC history knowledge with trivia and enjoyed some awesome giveaways along the way.

We’ve loved celebrating this milestone with the people who make MAC what it is, and the 45th Anniversary fun isn’t over yet, so stay tuned for more as the celebration continues!

The 45th Anniversary celebration kept the momentum going through April at MAC Construction! We continued visiting our crews in the field, connecting face-to-face, sharing the excitement, and handing out even more prizes. Team members once again walked away with some great giveaways.

Project Update: Ivy Tech 2 Gravity Interceptor Installation

The Ivy Tech 2 Gravity Sewer Interceptor Project began in early December and is approximately 70% complete. The work includes the installation of approximately 4,832 linear feet of 24-inch diameter PVC gravity sewer main, along with approximately 22 new 5-foot diameter sanitary manholes. The project also involves trenchless pipe construction beneath U.S. 31 and I-65, the safe loading and abandonment of an existing 10-inch diameter force main, the remodel of one lift station, and several stream crossings. Trenchless construction beneath U.S. 31 has been successfully completed, and trenchless operations under I-65 have recently begun.
