MAC Construction MAC Construction is a diversified Heavy/Specialty Heavy Civil Contractor working in the Midwest.

We can provide total site development needs from conception to final completion. MAC Construction began as a startup company in 1980, providing site development and excavation services in Southern Indiana/Louisville Metro area. Under the direction of husband and wife team Jeannie and Victor Unruh, MAC grew exponentially by successfully bidding for government/municipal contracts. Vic's strong oversight and attention to detail play a significant role in the company's success. He achieved enormous growth in a short period by expanding construction capabilities and managing operations. Jeannie guided financial management of MAC from its start in 1980 until 2010. Her administrative strengths in personnel, finance, and overall management are crucial to the success of MAC Construction today.

Bring on MAC’s next BOT project!

MAC Construction recently participated in the groundbreaking ceremonies for the next improvement to the New Albany Silver Street Park. Both the outdoor game field and smaller warm-up / youth field will be converted from grass to turf playing surfaces providing increased safety for athletes, requiring less maintenance, and extending the available playing season.

We recently had the opportunity to attend the ribbon cutting for the new Tri-Township Fire Department Station & Headquarters in Sellersburg, Indiana, and we’re grateful to have been a part of this important project.

As a P3 project delivered under Indiana’s Build-Operate-Transfer statute, MAC Construction provided the site development for the new facility, including the access road and heavy-duty concrete pavement, water and sanitary sewer infrastructure, storm sewer, and detention basin.

This new facility provides improved access and infrastructure to support the Tri-Township Fire Department and its emergency response efforts for years to come.

We’re proud to have played a role in bringing this project to completion and helping build a facility that will serve the community for years ahead.

It’s National Truck Driver Appreciation Week!

This week, we’re proud to recognize the hardworking truck drivers who play an essential role in keeping our communities, job sites, and projects moving forward. For navigating busy roadways to hauling materials and equipment, truck drivers take on long hours, challenging conditions, and significant responsibility every day.

Their commitment goes far beyond getting from Point A to Point B. Every trip is made with safety in mind – for themselves, fellow motorists, our crews, and the communities they serve. We appreciate the skill, patience, and dedication it takes to keep everything moving safely and efficiently.

As you share the road with commercial trucks, remember to give them space, be patient, and stay aware of their size and blind spots. Whether they’re making a short local trip or traveling long distances, a little extra awareness can make a big difference.

MAC Construction is proud to have been part of bringing Charlestown’s new downtown entertainment and gathering park to life!

Designed as a central destination for community events, The Commons features a signature performance pavilion, open lawn, pedestrian promenade, gathering and seating areas, safety features, and the iconic backlit Charlestown sign.

We recently celebrated the grand opening of this exciting new space, and it was exciting to see the finished space come together and begin serving the Charlestown Community. We’re proud of the work our team put into this project and even more proud to see it become a place where the community can gather, celebrate, and make memories for years to come!
