I was in Menasha most of the day today. I thought the best use of my time would be repairing as many holes in roofs as I could. Probably not enough. My thought after today is this
-Way worse in person than in pictures
-So many dangerous things such as
A. Insulation everywhere including your eyes and skin from all of the homes with missing roofs
B. These are 100 plus year old homes with lead paint and asbestos probably not good
C. Debris everywhere-tree debris-glass-building materials nails etc
D. Power wires on poles laying across a lot of the roads
-People are without water and electricity on top of everything else they are dealing with.
With all of the sad and terrible things people are dealing with there is some good,
-People bringing water around to everyone all day
-Neighbors helping each other
Which at least gives some relief.
This is just based on what I saw.
Definitely not a safe place for kids unless you have no choice and I think more simple food items would help at least the people I saw.
