Barges are being revealed at Sam’s Town Hotel & Casino!

Our team has been making great strides, preparing the barges for removal by stripping away the structures built around & on them. As the demolition progresses, more of the original barges that once supported the casino are coming into view. For this site, 3!

EAI is honored to play an important role in the continued revitalization of downtown Nashville as we begin separation/stabilization, demolition and abatement work along 2nd Avenue North impacted by the “Horrific” Christmas Day bombing on December 25, 2020.

The explosion forever changed this historic district, damaging businesses, landmarks, and a community that has worked tirelessly to rebuild. As recovery efforts continue, we're proud to help prepare these properties for their next chapter.

In Natchez, MS, on the corner of Franklin and Pearl Streets, stands a 1950s-era office building that is EAI’s next project!

Our team officially kicked off demolition and abatement operations this week, beginning the process of transforming the site and preparing it for what comes next.

We’re excited to get this project underway and look forward to sharing the progress as the work continues. As always, safety remains our top priority from start to finish.

A casino built on barges? At Sam’s Town Hotel & Casino in Tunica, Mississippi, that’s exactly what made this property unique.

When casino gaming was legalized in Mississippi in 1990, state law required casinos to operate on riverboats or navigable water. To meet those requirements, Sam’s Town was constructed on a series of barges positioned within a specially constructed basin near the Mississippi River. The floating casino opened in 1994 and became part of Tunica’s storied casino history.

Our team has begun the process of demolishing the casino barges in preparation for their removal from the site. It’s a unique demolition challenge that requires careful planning, specialized equipment, and a strong focus on safety as we take apart a structure that has been a part of the Tunica landscape for more than 30 years.

Here's an update from our team in Memphis, as they continue the FedEx Generator Building project. Before demolition could begin, our team safely removed and transported 22 generators, then successfully completed demolition while protecting critical electrical infrastructure located less than five feet from the structure. The project also includes the removal of four underground diesel storage tanks.

Every phase of this job requires careful planning, precision, and a commitment to safety, and our crew continues to deliver. Great work by everyone on site!
