Even the healthiest lawns can feel the summer heat! ☀️
Take a look at this beautiful property we’re maintaining—while it’s mostly green and thriving, you might notice a few slight patches of brown or yellowing. That’s called heat stress, and it's a completely normal response to peak summer temperatures.
Grass naturally goes into a semi-dormant state to protect itself from extreme heat and dry spells. The good news? It’s not dead; it’s just taking a breather! 🌿
Here’s how to help a heat-stressed lawn bounce back:
•Water Deeply and Early: Deep, infrequent watering early in the morning (between 4 AM and 8 AM) minimizes evaporation and encourages roots to grow deeper, making them more resilient.
•Raise the Mower Deck: We keep the grass a bit taller during the summer. The extra length shades the soil, keeps roots cooler, and retains moisture.
•Limit Foot Traffic: Stressed grass is fragile. Giving it a break from heavy foot traffic prevents permanent damage while it recovers.
