There’s nothing like playing tourist in your own city! Earlier this month, had the opportunity to go exploring in our own backyard. We visited some recent projects and even saw some awesome work by other partner firms. Thankful for this team and the work they do to connect people to community through strategic collaboration and design.

Football season is finally back! It’s hard to believe that this will be the Tennessee Titans’ last season in the old stadium. Did you know Hawkins Partners was part of the original design team for Titans Stadium along the Cumberland River in 1999?

Over the years, we’ve had the pleasure of working on countless projects that have contributed to the activation of Nashville's riverfront both on the East and West banks, from Wasioto Park to the Ascend Amphitheater and West Riverfront Park. We're honored to be able to continue this work in the East Bank neighborhood where neighbors and the community will be welcomed to the New Nissan Stadium.

was happy to attend the grand opening of the East Bank Greenway last week! Once a working barge landing and part of Nashville's industrial waterfront, over an acre of land has been transformed into public open space, native habitat, and a key piece of the East Bank Greenway Network. That industrial history remains legible through salvaged and reused materials for seating, walls, and pavers. Over 90 trees, native meadow plantings, and elevated overlooks complete the space. Check out this amazing spot and get a view of the river unlike any other in Nashville!

We’re looking forward to having this event return to the community and couldn’t be happier that it’s returning to another space we designed with these types of events in mind.

See you at the Lawn-Warming Party on October 18th!

Big congratulations to Holladay Ventures and the whole team on last week's Park 24 grand opening!

This project's story starts long before construction. The original apartment complex on this site had been condemned years earlier, and when redevelopment plans first surfaced, residents and neighbors in historic McFerrin Park pushed back, worried about being displaced from a community they'd called home for generations.

Starting in 2021, the developers built a team of local experts, alongside the Urban League of Middle Tennessee, Pillars, PATH, and the Salvation Army, and spent a year working directly with the McFerrin Park and Cleveland Park Neighborhood Associations.

Together, they shaped a Community Benefits Agreement that guaranteed relocation assistance, priority access to new units for existing residents, more affordable housing than the site had before, local jobs in construction and property management, and upgrades to play equipment in nearby McFerrin Park.

Metro Planning Commission approved the resulting plan unanimously, with commissioners calling the engagement process a new gold standard for multifamily development in Nashville.

Long-term affordable housing is no small feat. is proud to have a part to play in its story, and even more excited for what's ahead for this community!
