Enviro-Scapes, LLC is a strong proponent of a legal labor force, and there is a continuous shortage of workers in Middle Tennessee. For this reason, we rely upon the H2B seasonal visa program. The H2B Program Once again, the program faces challenges. Unless the Returning Worker Exemption portion of the program continues to be funded through March of 2017, we, and many companies in the US like us, face being shut out of the program. We need your help.
Contact your senators, Sen. Alexander & Sen. Corker, as well as your Representative in the House, and urge them to contact Casey Higgins ([email protected]) in the speakers office to let him know that this needs to be placed on the agenda.
Senator Alexander and Senator Corker are both proponents of the program, as is Representative Jim Cooper in Tennessee's 5th US Congressional District. How does your Rep. stand on the matter?
Call his or her office and ask to speak with the Legislative Assistant working the H2B program. Ask them where your rep. stands and let them know that you want the returning worker exemption to remain.
Many people are unaware that for each position we are able to fill locally by hiring here, one visa is subtracted from the number we request on our H2B application . That's the case whether that hired individual works 2 weeks, 2 days, or never shows for the first day of work. These are difficult, outdoor labor positions, and they are not a first choice for people looking for work. Not a single local employee has ever lost his or her job at Enviro-Scapes, LLC in order to utilize the H2B program.
Thank you for your help.
