Congratulations to the 2026 recipients of the Energizing Prosperity Scholarships in Hamblen and Jefferson County, Tennessee, from Morristown-Hamblen High School West, Morristown-Hamblen High School East, and Jefferson Co High School!

The Energizing Prosperity Scholarships are the result of a unique partnership between Clearloop, a Silicon Ranch Corporation company, and Intuit as a result of the White Pine Solar Farm in White Pine, Tennessee. Intuit’s support of the 2.8MW solar farm included $100,000 in scholarships to support high school seniors pursuing 4-year degrees, 2-year degrees, and career and technical education after high school.

Join us in wishing these bright young leaders the best as they embark on the next chapter of their education.

We loved hosting Vanderbilt University students at Clearloop through Professor Leonora Williamson’s Corporate Social Responsibility course for a deep dive into Scope 2 carbon accounting.

They tackled a timely question: how should companies measure and report electricity emissions as standards like the GHG Protocol evolve? Their presentation unpacked the debate between 24/7 matching—focused on when and where clean energy is used—and consequential accounting, centered on real-world emissions impact.

We were genuinely impressed by their insights. Big thanks to the students, Professor Williamson, and the Vanderbilt team for a meaningful collaboration.

We’re excited to welcome our 2026 summer interns to Clearloop!

Julia Craven joins us as our Operations Intern, bringing a strong foundation in engineering and renewable energy research. A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with a self-curated degree in Engineering for Sustainability, Julia will begin her Master’s in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management this fall. A Nashville native, she is eager to deepen her understanding of decarbonization while helping drive meaningful community impact across the Southeast.

Owen Gemignani joins as our Data Analytics Intern. A junior at Amherst College double majoring in Physics and Math, Owen combines a background in theoretical physics and modeling with a passion for the energy sector. Also from Nashville, he looks forward to using data to help tell the story of clean energy’s impact on communities and the environment.

We’re thrilled to have Julia and Owen on the team this summer as we continue advancing innovative, community-focused energy solutions.

On Memorial Day, we pause to remember the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who have given their lives in service to our nation. We are grateful for their sacrifice and mindful of the responsibility we all share to honor their memory as we enjoy the freedoms secured for us by their valor.

We’re excited to share that Clearloop is featured in REI’s newly released 2025 Impact Report! 🌞

REI highlighted our partnership supporting new solar development in Tennessee—an effort tied to the opening of their newest distribution center and already delivering real results, including 2,196 RECs produced in 2025.

We’re grateful to work alongside partners like REI who are committed to building a healthier planet through meaningful, place-based clean energy projects.

It's Teacher Appreciation week, and we couldn't be more grateful for our incredible teachers who choose to spend their time learning about solar energy with us as a part of our Energize STEM program. You are all superheroes, helping young people shape brighter futures and stronger communities every single day.

Recently in Brownsville, Tennessee, we had the opportunity to see the future of clean energy education come to life. ⚡☀️

Clearloop’s Energize STEM program brought local educators together for a hands‑on workshop designed to help 4th–9th grade students learn about renewable energy and careers in clean tech—right in their own classrooms.

Through activities like building solar‑powered fountains and mini‑grids, educators explored the fundamentals of electricity, circuits, and solar energy, while gaining community‑informed resources aligned with state education standards. These tools are now headed straight back to classrooms, where they can spark curiosity, confidence, and long‑term interest in STEM.

Energize STEM is built to be scalable and replicable, with one goal in mind: creating lasting impact by equipping teachers and empowering students—especially in communities that have historically had fewer opportunities to engage with clean energy firsthand.

Our co‑founder and CEO Laura Zapata was profiled recently by The American Leader. Read the article linked below to learn more about Laura's long and winding road to leadership in the solar sector and about Clearloop's vision for a geographically and socioeconomically conscious approach to energy development.

As Laura explains, investing in new, American solar projects doesn’t just address emissions—it can also serve as an economic driver for communities that have historically been overlooked in the clean energy transition. That belief is at the heart of Clearloop’s mission: helping companies reclaim their carbon footprint while expanding access to clean energy and economic opportunity at the same time.

We’re grateful to The American Leader for spotlighting this approach and for helping elevate the conversation around high‑integrity, community‑centered carbon solutions.

Laura Zapata leads Clearloop, a solar power company that sells carbon offsets to finance its projects in distressed communities.
