50 years of DSB means 50 years of firsts.

In 2003, DSB partnered with Graniti Fiandre (now operating as StonePeak Ceramics) on the construction of their first U.S. investment, a more than $50 million, 650,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Crossville, Tennessee.

DSB provided the pre-engineered metal building package using a Butler Manufacturing system with an MR-26 standing-seam roof. The facility introduced large-format ceramic tile production to the U.S. market and set a new benchmark for porcelain tile manufacturing.

Nearly 25 years later, projects like this remain part of the foundation DSB was built on: technical expertise, strong partnerships, and the ability to deliver complex facilities built for what’s next.

Since joining DSB as a Superintendent in 2025, Neal has become someone our teams know they can count on. He brings a calm, steady approach to the work, is always willing to jump in when help is needed, and takes pride in getting things done the right way.

A million square feet. Two projects. One standout campus.

American Wonder Porcelain was a defining project in DSB’s history, delivered in two separate projects as the company expanded its domestic manufacturing operations.

Building one brought a 658,000 square foot advanced manufacturing facility to life, including a 214,700 square foot warehouse and 20,500 square foot office. Completed in just 14 months, the facility was built to support Wonder Porcelain’s advanced production capabilities and proprietary manufacturing processes.

The project earned the 2018 Eagle Award from ABC’s National Excellence in Construction Awards, recognizing the quality and ex*****on of the work.

Three years later, DSB returned for Building Two a 351,560 square foot finished goods warehouse that added significant capacity for Wonder Porcelain’s growing operations. The addition was completed in just nine months.

From manufacturing facilities to large-scale metal building systems, projects like this have been part of what DSB has been building for 50 years.

A new chapter for Jack, and an exciting one for DSB.

After working with T.W. Frierson for nearly 10 years, Jack is now stepping into a new role with a greater focus on Design Systems Builders as we celebrate 50 years of DSB.

With experience spanning nearly every side of construction, from the lumber yard and framing to project executive leadership, Jack brings a perspective that’s hard to match and a deep understanding of what it takes to turn a design into a successful project.

We’re excited to have Jack playing a bigger role in DSB’s future and look forward to what’s ahead.

Some partnerships stand the test of time.

Between 1993 and 1997, DSB partnered with Duke-Weeks on over 24 buildings totaling nearly 1.6 million square feet. Looking back at these projects is a great reminder of the relationships and work that have helped shape our history.

Throwback!

TileCera (now Florim USA) was one of the first and largest projects for DSB and T.W. Frierson together! Built between 1991 - 1997, the two buildings had a combined 550,000 square feet!
