A beautiful morning at The Orchard on Wallen!

The progress made over the past couple of weeks has been incredible. The paving and sidewalks have truly brought the project together and given the development a whole new look and feel.

Shoutout to the team for their hard work and dedication behind the scenes - the early morning commutes, late nights, constant phone calls, and problem-solving that keep projects moving forward every day.

We’re excited to continue watching this multi-family apartment development come together over the next several months!

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

One week after the ribbon cutting, the purpose behind this project continues to stick with us.

Welcome Home Youth Advocacy was built to be a place of support, hope, and restoration for people in every season of life. Bringing together organizations like Indiana Kids Belong, The Well, and Made 4 more - focused on foster care advocacy, mentorship, prayer, healing, and community outreach under one roof creates something truly special for our region.

Projects like this carry a deeper meaning because of the lives that will be impacted inside these walls for years to come. We’re incredibly grateful to have been part of bringing this vision to life and proud to support something that will serve our community in such a meaningful way.

This week, we gathered over cinnamon rolls from Nappanee Bakery & Treat Shoppe in Coppes Commons to celebrate our May birthdays and tenure milestones!

We always enjoy taking time each month to recognize the people behind the work. These celebrations are a chance to connect as a team, celebrate milestones together, and acknowledge the individuals who contribute to R. Yoder Construction every day.

On Friday, we celebrated the opening of Welcome Home, a new youth advocacy nonprofit created to serve and support individuals and families throughout our community.

Sharing the same space are several incredible organizations - The Well, Made 4 More, and Indiana Kids Belong - each bringing resources, support, healing, and encouragement to those who need it most. Whether someone is navigating a difficult season, seeking prayer and support, exploring foster care and adoption, or simply looking for community, this space was built to meet people where they are.

This project represents something much bigger than a building. It’s a place designed to make a lasting impact through compassion, connection, and care for both adults and children in our region.

Wednesday and Thursday this week, our team joined other local employers at the 2026 Elkhart Career Quest to spend time with middle schoolers from across Elkhart County and introduce them to careers in construction.

Students got hands-on experience with drilling activities and had the chance to sit in the driver’s seat of an excavator. It was great to see so much curiosity and engagement throughout the event!

We appreciate being part of an event that gives students exposure to the skilled trades and future career opportunities!

Last Friday marked an exciting milestone as we celebrated the ribbon cutting for the new Beardsley Discovery Center! ✨

Formerly the Beardsley Carriage House, this historic building was severely damaged in a fire. R. Yoder Construction was honored to help restore and transform the space, bringing new life back to a place with so much history and meaning to the community.

Seeing the doors officially reopen and celebrating alongside everyone involved made this project even more special. Congratulations to all who helped bring this vision to life!

April was all about momentum across our projects!

At Jomar Machining & Fabricating , Erik walks us through major milestones on the facility expansion, with siding and concrete completion, a separating wall coming down, and occupancy! Plus, a big win with crane installation tolerance 👏
Over at New Paris Tech, Angelo shares progress on site prep, retention pond excavation, foundation pours, and underground utilities. This project is really taking shape, with even more to come next month.
In Huntertown, we’ve made solid strides with two clarifier holes completed and updates to the UV treatment system.
And at The Orchard on Wallen, Gabe highlights ongoing siding and concrete work, including sidewalks and porch slabs. Coming soon are road paving, HVAC and plumbing installs, and siding wrap-up.

Lots of exciting progress, and we’re just getting started.

A new chapter begins - rooted in history.

After a devastating fire at the historic Havilah Beardsley Carriage House on the Ruthmere (Ruthmere Museum ) campus in Elkhart, R. Yoder Construction was honored to help bring it back to life. What once stood as a loss is now a vibrant, reimagined space renamed the Beardsley Discovery Center - carefully restored to preserve its legacy while creating a place designed to inspire, educate, and gather.

Original stained glass has been carefully restored, and even sections of fire-touched brick remain - intentionally preserved as a tribute to the building’s story, not erased from it.
Every detail reflects a balance of past and present, ensuring this space continues to serve the community for generations to come.
