🌱 A healthy lawn starts from the ground up.

This morning we completed a core aeration, giving this lawn exactly what it needed. Aeration helps relieve soil compaction, allowing water, oxygen, and nutrients to reach the root system where they matter most.

Benefits of aeration include:
✅ Stronger, deeper roots
✅ Improved fertilizer and water uptake
✅ Reduced soil compaction
✅ Thicker, healthier turf

If your lawn feels hard underfoot or isn’t responding the way it should, aeration may be the single best service you can do for it.

Fall is the perfect time to aerate, and our schedule fills up quickly. Contact Vital Turf Solutions today to get on the schedule!

We love a good lawn transformation.

This lawn was hit hard by a turf disease outbreak and the damage was intensified by drought stress. In the first photo, taken on June 11, you can see that irrigation helped green up the surrounding turf, but water alone wasn’t enough to stop the disease or repair the damage.
After diagnosing the issue, we applied a curative fungicide program using two fungicides with different modes of action to stop the disease and protect the recovering turf.

Fast forward to June 22, and the results speak for themselves. The lawn is actively recovering, filling back in, and returning to a healthy green color.
Proper diagnosis and timely treatment can make all the difference when disease strikes a lawn.

Seeing your lawn turn lighter green or “fuzzy” this spring? Don’t panic — that’s your Kentucky bluegrass going to seed. 🌱

In Michigan, cooler spring temperatures and longer daylight hours trigger bluegrass to enter its natural reproductive stage, producing seedheads across the lawn. This can make turf look pale, uneven, or stressed even when it’s actually healthy.

A few things that help:✔️ Frequent mowing✔️ Sharp mower blades✔️ Balanced fertility✔️ Proper watering

This phase is temporary and usually passes within a few weeks as temperatures warm up and the lawn returns to normal growth.

At Vital Turf Solutions, we pay attention to seasonal turf changes so we can keep your lawn looking its best all season long.

Getting a lawn back on track takes the right timing and attention to detail, and we’re happy with how this one turned out. Imagine how much nicer it will be in the near future. We’re excited with the results so far. 🌱
