Interesting. We might be witnessing history for the latest 1st Hurricane to form in the Atlantic (if we even get one that is). The latest on record both formed on September 11th. Gustav in 2002 and Humberto in 2013. El Nino is contributing yes. But ironically 2013 wasn't El Nino. Forecast looking like this will verify. We will sea. www.spaghettimodels.com

: Tropical Storm has formed in the Atlantic, 4th named storm of the 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season. It's currently forecast to be short-lived. Here's the latest and what to know:

1) Dolly was able to develop from a small window of favorable conditions, but it looks like that will quickly be coming to an end Friday into the weekend as it encounters drier air and increasing wind shear. More shear and dry air the better…it hurts tropical systems! The official NHC (National Hurricane Center) forecast calls for this to move into the Caribbean and then dissapate / fall apart after.

2) Over the past several days, I’ve been discussing two track possibilities from the models. Scenario #1 quickly develops a stronger system and has it turning north out to sea. Scenario #2 is a system that either struggles after developing, or never actually develops, and heads more west as a result. Recently, almost all models have been leaning toward the western track, Scenario #2.

3) The more west it goes, land enters into the mix. First up will be the Caribbean. Leeward Islands and Puerto Rico by Sunday into Monday. Hispaniola by Monday into Tuesday. Then after the Bahamas? Cuba? The United States? All possibilities, but what will it be at that point? Even if it develops and then falls apart, some models indicate the leftovers could try to reorganize over warmer water, greater tropical moisture and lower shear. Not a guarantee, but possible down the road. Best-case scenario is an undeveloped rainmaker.

4)Thankfully, this is nothing to stress over this early, just putting it on your radar and keeping tabs on it.

I'll continue to keep you updated 24/7 with no hype, just the facts. Thanks everyone!

TROPICS | In the 8 AM update the NHC has increased the chance of development in the system in the Atlantic to 90%. Advisories are possible later today. This system is still not a major threat or a concern as it will run into a lot of shear before it gets to the islands.

TROPICAL UPDATE: We now have Invest 96L (Red area) and Invest 95L (Orange area) in the Atlantic. Odds have increased to 70% for the Red Area to form. Next name is . Here's the latest and what to know:

Invest 96L: Over the next 3 days, conditions appear favorable for better organization. By Day 4 and 5, it may encounter dry air and some shear, which would slow or even halt strengthening. If it can successfully battle those elements, there’s the potential for better ingredients down the road again in the long range (Days 7+). The majority of models are currently showing a turn to the north away from the United States and out to sea. The American and European models support the idea, however, Google brings the system closer to the Bahamas and even the United States. Remember that these tracks are not a guarantee, considering it hasn’t even formed yet. Can’t stress that enough. Model changes are always possible, especially this early. We’ll look for model consistency after it tries to form a center.

Invest 95L: No threat to the United States. Odds have lowered to 40%. Only impacts would be to eastern Canada, specifically Newfoundland, by tonight into early Wednesday with fast-moving rain and some breezy weather. Nothing significant or out of the ordinary.

I'll continue to keep you updated 24/7 with no hype, just the facts. Thanks everyone!

34 years ago tonight, Category 5 Hurricane 🌀 Andrew was bearing down on Southeast Florida. After Andrew, building codes would be changed forever. Were you living in Southeast Florida? Did you experience it?

Hurricane Lala is producing *snow* at the top of 13,803 ft Mauna Kea in Hawaii right now. Two things you normally wouldn't think together! Wind gusts over 140 mph have been recorded too with wind chills around 19°. Wicked weather! ❄️🌀

08/13/2026

TROPICAL UPDATE: Hurricane Watch in effect for the Big Island of Hawaii this weekend plus two areas remain in the Atlantic. Cristobal is no more. Here's the latest:

1) PACIFIC: Lala is expected to intensify and could be near hurricane strength when it approaches the Big Island of Hawaii by early Saturday. A Hurricane Watch is in effect for the island with a potential upgrade to a Hurricane Warning soon. Wind will be strongest in areas of higher terrain with also 1-3 foot of surge along the coast. Share this post with friends or family that either live in Hawaii or have travel plans there this weekend.

2) ATLANTIC: Odds have actually lowered from 80% to 60% for Invest 92L (orange area on the left). It will pass by the Lesser Antilles this weekend. Even if it does form, rough conditions are ahead in the Caribbean with high shear and Saharan Dust. That could weaken or even rip the storm apart. Right behind it is Invest 94L (orange area on the right). 50% chance of development over the next week. The Eastern Caribbean should monitor considering the proximity of the track to the islands by Wednesday (8/19) to Friday (8/21) next week. Next names are and .

: Tropical Storm has formed in the Atlantic, 3rd named storm of the 2026 Atlantic Season. It actually might not be the area you're thinking...it's well north! Here’s the latest:

1) Invest 93L got better organized and grabbed the name before Invest 92L (Red 80%).

2) Cristobal will be short-lived and no threat to the United States.

3) Invest 92L has an increasing potential to form and head into the Caribbean. Any impacts as a rainmaker or tropical system would be this weekend for the Lesser Antilles. Next name is . If it wants to survive, it will have to battle rough conditions with high wind shear, Saharan Dust and even possibly land depending on track ahead.

4) The final area, the yellow 30% tropical wave, could actually become the strongest of the three. Too early to know if it curves out to sea or heads more west towards land. Plenty of time to keep tabs on it.

I’ll continue to keep you updated 24/7 with no hype, just the facts. Thanks everyone!

First batch of EURO spaghetti models for Invest 92 in the Atlantic. Many fizzle system once in and around the Caribbean, likely due to heavy wind shear expected. Couple do hang on. But not enough to stress yet. Lots of hostile conditions to work through first.

No threats to Florida at the moment. But the tropics are heating up and we need to keep our eyes open 👀
