We’d been in business three years on September 11, 2001.
That morning, 2,977 people were killed, including 412 first responders who went toward the towers while everyone else was trying to get out.
In the days after, the next people in were tradesmen. Ironworkers, operating engineers, laborers, crane operators. For nearly nine months they worked the pile at Ground Zero beside firefighters and police, cutting steel with torches and searching for anyone they could bring home. Many of them are still paying for it with their health.
We build for a living. We know what it takes to put a structure up. We can’t imagine what it took to do what they did.
Today Associated Contracting remembers every life lost, and thanks the firefighters, deputies, and paramedics across Southwest Florida who still run toward the call.
