From the "in case you missed it" files... 2,397 golden retrievers recently gathered in a park in Argentina. (Unofficial) world record. How awesome is that? Our first dog was a golden, Daisy, who lived to be 14 and was - as they are - amazing. Now, in the same spirit, I'd like to invite all siberian husky owners to join me and my two in setting a world record husky gathering. I don't know what that record is, but I'm willing to go for it. :-)

A passerby could hear the cacophony from miles away. It was the unmistakable sound of hundreds of dogs barking — and breaking the unofficial world record for the largest-ever gathering of golden retrievers.

For many, the work of Frank Gehry was polarizing; you either loved it or hated it. But either way, you certainly noticed it. Frank passed away last week at the age of 96, and the legacy and impact of his life's work will certainly be lasting. Whether you are a fan or not, the spaces and buildings he crafted around the world surely pushed the boundaries of sculptural architecture and spatial experience. For one, I was always a fan, and I'm grateful he has helped advance our notion of what buildings can become.

Architects are professionals. Full stop.
Recently, the current federal administration has introduced policy that would re-classify architecture (among other professions such as nursing and education) as a “non-professional” degree. We firmly oppose this and stand by the AIA’s posture that “The title of 'architect' is earned through years of rigorous education, extensive professional examinations, and a demanding licensing process. To classify otherwise dismisses the expertise, professional standards, and dedication that define the profession.” Please stand up in opposition to this proposal on behalf of your architect friends, peers, and colleagues who have devoted their lives to the betterment of our communities.
