It was a wild ride watching this fireplace come together with the custom arched walnut and aluminum trim details on the interior of the already amazing limestone pillars. Truly a breathtaking room that’s a part of a one of a kind home!

The last couple of evenings, as summer gives way to fall, we’ve caught ourselves stopping to admire the view.

Maybe it’s the perfect evening backlighting. Or maybe it’s all those finishing touches bringing this custom home to life.

Either way, we’re loving what we’re seeing come together, inside and out!

There’s something special about watching a vision become a home.

A quick walkthrough before we hand over the keys!

Every room in this custom home was thoughtfully designed in collaboration with Danielle Harmon and somehow, each space kept getting better and better!

Almost two and a half years into this house and the finishing details are coming together. Stone backsplash to compliment the counters in the lower kitchen. We can’t wait to see it all come together.

THIS is custom home building. 🏡

The drone shots are showing off the scale of this home, but it’s what’s happening behind the scenes that really defines a custom build.

Radiant heat tubing throughout the driveway? Yep.
A custom trench sock drain designed specifically because this home has no gutters? Absolutely.

When you’re building a truly custom home, there’s no standard playbook. Every detail has to work together — design, drainage, mechanicals, exterior finishes and everything in between.

It’s complicated. It takes planning. And this is exactly the kind of stuff we love.

This is what custom home building looks like.

We’re getting close to the finish line on this one, and it’s always fun to look back at how far a project has come. From the early planning and design conversations to seeing all of the details come together, this home has been an incredible project for the SG Home Builders team.

Here’s a quick tour as we put the finishing touches on this custom build.

Thinking about building a custom home in Naperville or the surrounding area? Let’s start the conversation.

Tile is one of those trades that looks simple when it’s done well.

What you don’t see are the hours spent laying out every cut, balancing grout joints, wrapping corners, lining up veins, centering fixtures, and making dozens of decisions before the first piece ever gets set.

A sixteenth of an inch matters. So does patience.

Huge shoutout to the craftsmen on our team who make these spaces look effortless. Your work becomes part of these homes for decades, and it doesn’t go unnoticed.

Most people will remember this room because of the fireplace.

We’ll remember everything it took to build it.

Behind every finished detail are weeks of planning, layout, fabrication, and craftsmanship from a team that cares about getting it right. It’s a process that rarely gets seen, but it’s what turns a good idea into a great home.

This one is starting to come together, and we can’t wait to show you the finished result.

Construction is unpredictable. Your builder’s process shouldn’t be.

Materials shift. Schedules change. Unexpected conditions surface. Strong project management is not about pretending those things will never happen. It is about identifying them early, communicating clearly, and keeping the work moving.

At SG Home Builders, we return to three fundamentals:

What progress has been made?
What is coming next?
What decisions need to be made?

Those questions help our team stay accountable, anticipate what the project needs, and give our clients a clearer understanding of what is happening throughout the build.

And much of that work starts before construction ever begins.
