With the right team, any space can be given new life. At St. Luke School in River Forest, IL, their renovation project became an opportunity to create bright, welcoming new classrooms where the school’s youngest learners can truly flourish.
A portion of the building that once held a mix of classrooms, a computer lab, offices, and unused locker and shower spaces was completely reimagined. By reorganizing roughly 8,500 sq. ft, the project transformed a fragmented layout into five thoughtfully designed classrooms: two for Pre-K, two for Kindergarten, and one flexible learning space that can adapt as the school’s needs evolve.
Every classroom now includes direct access to a single-user bathroom and dedicated storage, helping teachers keep everything organized and running smoothly. New windows bring in more natural light, while updated mechanical systems, including newly added air conditioning, maintain a comfortable environment for learning throughout the year. With all-new flooring, lighting, ceilings, and paint, the spaces feel completely refreshed. The result is a cheerful, functional environment that supports curiosity and creativity.
