Not all shingles are created equal. 👀

A lot of contractors are trying to use the cheapest products possible so they can offer the cheapest price.

But the cheapest roof isn’t always the best roof.

There are definitely shingle manufacturers and product lines we stay away from for a reason. Quality matters, and when you’re putting a roof on your home that should last for decades, saving a few bucks on materials isn’t always worth it.

At Legacy Roofing, we’re not looking for the cheapest product we can install — we’re looking for products we’re confident putting our name behind. 🏠🔨

“Ridge vent included” doesn’t tell you the whole story. 👀

A lot of roofing quotes will say they include ridge vent, but they don’t specify whether they’re using a rolled ridge vent or a stick ridge vent.

The picture here is a rolled ridge vent. Air can still flow through it, but you can physically see how much material the air has to travel through and how small those baffles are. Compared to a stick ridge vent, that design can be more restrictive and provide less overall airflow.

That’s why simply saying “ridge vent included” on an estimate isn’t enough.

When you’re comparing roofing quotes, ask:
Is it a rolled ridge vent or a stick ridge vent?

At Legacy Roofing, when we install ridge vent, we always use a stick ridge vent, and we always finish it with a high-profile ridge cap shingle on top.

Proper ventilation and the little details matter. 🏠🔨

Me talking to the guys before they start a steep roof 😂

Nobody wants to get on a steep roof and work up there all day. Roofing, in my opinion, is one of the hardest trades out there—if not the hardest.

These guys work their asses off every single day, and I’m super appreciative of them and all the hard work they put in. 💪🏼🏠

A good company is only as good as the people out there doing the work. 👊🏼

Some times it be like that. 😂😂😂

It’s the little details that make a roof look finished right. 👌

A lot of roofing companies will give you the option of brown vents and brown pipe flashings to match a brown roof.

The problem? “Brown” apparently means about 30 different colors. 😂

The vents can be one shade, the pipe flashing another, and the paint used to touch everything up can be another shade entirely. Before you know it, your roof looks like somebody dumped a box of brown crayons on it.

That bugs us at Legacy Roofing.

That’s why we stick with black vents and black pipe flashings. Black stays consistent, looks clean, and works with basically every shingle color.

Is it a small detail? Yep.

But those small details are what separate a roof that just got done from a roof that looks like it was done right. 🏠🔨

Boss: “Make sure you bring the toolbox.”

Us: Say less. 🫡

Shows up with pre-workout, protein powder, lifting straps, creatine, and absolutely zero roofing tools. 😂

Boss: “What is this?”

Us: “You said bring the tools. We brought the whole performance package.”

Apparently he meant hammers and nail guns.

Easy misunderstanding. 💪😂

Good thing we’re better at installing roofs than following directions.
