Update on the backyard! This about 2 weeks after seeding and daily watering! I used a Kentucky 31 seed mix because of the shade on the area.

I will now be seeding with centipede and using Scott’s w**d and feed to assist. I will also be using a sprinkler instead of hand watering

Soil doesn’t seem to support grass very well so I will be looking into aeration and getting a soil sample tested for proper fertilization

Working on a backyard transformation for a client! 🤙

Services completed

- soil cleared and prepped for seed/feed✅

- fence cleared of invasive vines and trimmed back for further maintenance‼️ (requested I leave some honeysuckle)

- top soil and grass seed added 🌱

- sprayed rock area and put down Preen for further prevention 🛡️

Upcoming services

- line back of fence with a slightly raised bed for flowers and herbs 🪴

- raise bed and border with brick 🧱

Virginia Creeper. No, It’s not a serial killer from the 80s…

Virginia creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia) it’s a creeping vine from native to the southeastern US. We have all seen it covering the side of a building or taking over whole sections of the woods.

It’s an aggressive spreader and has developed all kinds of unique abilities such as adhesive pads along the vine that allow to stick to structures and grow upward while supporting itself.
