The BIGGEST mistake we see with DIY cabinet projects is rushing the prep work.

Cabinets need to be:
✔️ Thoroughly degreased
✔️ Properly sanded
✔️ Repaired where needed
✔️ Completely dust-free
✔️ Primed with the right product

Skipping even one of these steps can lead to peeling, poor adhesion, rough finishes, and a paint job that just doesn’t hold up.

Carroll Custom Coatings is hiring an experienced Lead Painter / Working Crew Leader. We’re looking for someone who can lead from the front, actively completing painting work while managing the crew, maintaining production standards, and keeping projects on schedule.

This person will be responsible for daily jobsite organization, assigning tasks, monitoring quality, tracking progress, communicating project needs, and ensuring deadlines are met. Applicants should have professional residential painting experience, strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to keep a team productive and accountable.

The right choice really depends on the condition of your cabinets, your current layout, your budget, and what you want the finished space to look like.

• You’re happy with your current layout
