Itā€™s been a busy weekend cleaning up the zinnia bed and starting on the dahlias beds as well. Swipe to see some pretty chrysanthemums I took a moment to enjoy! Itā€™s like pumpkin spice in the garden!

It has been a very full end of season! The family schedule proves to get busier each school year so I have found less time to update my online flower friends! I had one more event this week before I have decided to retire the beds for the season. You may be wondering about those beautiful end of season dahlias and mums?! Sadly, a few factors have played into a disappointing year for dahlia production! Poor soil health, High temps, my lack of drip tubes, then drenching rains to name a few. But overall what a blessing this year has been in the gardens! Thank you all for your support. It has been so encouraging! Iā€™ll be tending to the beds, amending and planning out irrigation for next year. And as soon as that first frost comes, I will be ready to cut back the dahlias and start the storing process all over again! Thanks again for following our tiny business! I plan to use the last of the zinnias here to decorate my birthday table this weekend ;)

It is time I rest the zinnia bed for the season! Contact me for your last little bit of these beauties! I have been working on seed collection and if you would enjoy making a small haven for yourself next year, I will have open pollinated seed packets available for sale in early December!

Hereā€™s a bit of the process in making a pretty bird cage arrangement for a baby shower! Believe it or not, I ask my kids how things look through my arranging process and they are always loving and encouraging but brutally honest with me! šŸ¤£ Iā€™m thankful for that!

The Mother of the brideā€™s words ā€œThis is so Alaina!ā€ Weddings can be a bit stressful - Will I please the bride? Will everything hold up to the weather? Will it look best at picture time? But as I come up to the table after dinner, and I see how I got to help make their new beginning a little more beautiful it made it all worth the while. And this bride is a special lady to our whole family. Thank you for the honor Mr. And Mrs. Cunningham! šŸ„°

Some days are meant to slow down and just enjoy. The girls and I jumped outside once this week to check on our TWO watermelons that are growing! šŸ˜œ And they decided to cut their own flowers to bring in. It was so fun to see them interact with the flowers and discover the beauty on their own. And today we are getting ready for all the weekend orders!

These dahlias!! šŸ¤© oh and check out this amazing zinnia that looks like it was painted on with pink! šŸ˜ Iā€™m so excited for the 65 dahlias I placed in the ground back at the end of May! August will be SO FUN! (Sad news is Iā€™ve lost three entire high end dahlia plants to an unknown pest šŸ˜«. No Cinder Rose! I am continuing to use soap at the base of Penny Lane weekly as the same signs are showing up on her next! Help!)
