Curb-less Shower Prep ✅

For this project, we were brought in specifically to handle the prep work for a zero-entry shower before custom quartz wall panels were installed.

Creating a fully curbless entry isn’t as simple as removing the curb. In many cases, it requires lowering part of the subfloor so the shower system can slope properly while still allowing for a seamless entry.

For this shower, we:
• Removed the existing shower
• Dropped the subfloor to create the recessed entry
• Installed the Schluter shower pan system
• Waterproofed and prepared everything for the custom quartz installation that comes next

A lot of the most important work happens before the finished materials ever go in.

Have you ever seen a shower on Pinterest and wondered “how do I get that?”

We’re kicking off a new series: How We’d Build This 👀

Every so often, we’ll take a design that caught our eye and break down what we’re noticing, why it works, and how we’d recreate it.

This shower immediately stood out to us because it proves you don’t need bold colors or dramatic contrast to create a space full of character.

The warm tile, arched niche, patterned accent, and brass fixtures all work together to create a space that feels layered, inviting, and timeless.

We wanted to make it something that feels accessible as well, which is why we included options that we could buy at Lowe’s right now. Could we go to our tile showroom and find almost the identical tile in the photo? Sure! But that would include weeks of waiting and may not be a route that all clients can take, so we wanted to show you what is possible with your local Home Improvements store.

And because we can’t help ourselves… we also created a few alternative color palettes inspired by the same design.

This completes Phase 3 of our basement apartment remodel in Murphy, NC. The space started as a 10ftx30ft unfinished basement (that the homeowner referred to as “the dungeon”) and we converted it into a beautiful, livable apartment space that our client can use for guests or rentals.

The bathroom has everything you’d expect to see including a toilet, vanity/sink and a shower. It also features a makeup table area for getting ready and a cabinet that can be used as a linen closet and extra bathroom storage.

The biggest obstacle we had to overcome for this bathroom project was the lack of access to plumbing. We explored the option of having a plumber come out and add lines to the septic tank, but it was just completely out of her budget range. So we went with the Saniflow macerator pump system so that she could have a working toilet, sink and shower without the extra plumbing expense.

And with that, this basement remodel is complete. We will do a full project reveal here soon to show the whole space and of course you can expect behind the scenes footage to see how this space came to life!

Last Saturday, we attended the grand opening of a new Countertop & Cabinet Showroom in Murphy, NC. It’s called Oak & Stone Countertops and Cabinets, and it’s stunning to say the least!

Seeing materials in person makes such a difference when planning a remodel, especially when it comes to cabinetry, countertops, finishes, and overall design direction. Their showroom is thoughtfully put together and full of inspiration for both kitchen and bathroom spaces.

We’re excited to be able to bring clients here as part of the remodeling process and help them create spaces that feel both functional and personal to their home.

We always love connecting with other local businesses that are passionate about quality and design, and this is definitely a space worth visiting if you’re planning a renovation project 👏🏼

Today is Memorial Day, Murphy ❤️🤍💙

As our town is getting ready for the big America 250 celebration in July, we can’t help but stop and think about the fact that America 250 would not even be possible if it weren’t for the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

This may as well be live footage of us at the jobsite 🤣

Just yesterday I was visiting T at our current bathroom build and he was like “be careful near the walls, I just finished mudding”. You’d think by now I wouldn’t need the reminder, but the amount of times I’ve squatted right in to wet mud while trying to get all my angles is absurd.

We are almost finished with our current basement remodel in Murphy, NC and the bathroom is the final phase of the project. We can’t wait to show you!

Tub to Shower Conversions continue to be one of our most requested projects in Murphy, NC and we can see why!

Tubs can be a convenient way to bathe young children or pets, and let’s be real, it also provides a relaxing way to unwind for adults. But as we get older, they also present a huge safety hazard.
