Homeowner tried to save a little money by painting the lower walls and calling us in later to handle the high work. Problem is, on a big open space like this, you have to keep a wet edge. Once that dries in sections, there’s no clean way to blend the top into the bottom and make it look right. So in the end, what was supposed to save money turned into repainting the entire living room wall correctly from top to bottom.
Sometimes doing part of it twice costs more than doing it right once.

This one wasn’t a basic “stain the fence” job. We were brought into a color problem somebody else created, and with semi-transparent stain, that matters. The two sample boards told the story right away: the target had an aged, layered look and the new application wanted to pull much redder. Jim and I worked through it, adjusted accordingly, and got the fence reading the way it should across the full run. That’s what experience looks like when the job isn’t straightforward.
