Some homes require more conversation before the first wall ever goes up.

This lake house is four stories, with the lower two levels built into the hillside. That made site work, foundation, and how the home would sit on the property at big part of the design from the beginning.

There was a lot of collaboration with the builder to work through those details before construction.

Because what gets drawn on paper has to work on the actual site.

A good set of construction drawings is about more than showing what a home should look like. They communicate how the home comes together - from the foundation to the framing details the builder needs to execute the design.

Because beautiful design is only part of the job. It also has to be buildable.

Why does a dog room need to be boring?

When designing a floor plan, pet spaces can be some of the most talked-about areas of the home. Here, built-in crates form a large center island, while the dog wash makes bath time feel more like a trip to the spa.

Then the homeowner brought the personality—green tile, herringbone brick floors, and fun lighting.

Proof that even the most practical spaces can be some of the most fun.

A foyer should do more than connect rooms. It should create presence the second you walk through the door.
This traditional entry was designed to pull your eye straight through the hall while the stair becomes almost sculptural overhead.
It is about proportion, flow, and knowing where to let the architecture speak quietly.
