Today, our hearts are broken as we say goodbye to William “Wizard” Roden. 💔
Some people come into your life through work, and others have been part of your life for as long as you can remember. Wizard was both. He was Mrs. Bradley’s cousin, and they grew up together long before he ever became part of Bradley Paving team. He wasn't just an employee who became family over the years. He was family first, and always will be.
Wizard has been with our company since the early 2000s, but the bond went back so much further than that. He was a friend, a familiar face, and someone who was simply a part of life. When you've known someone for that many years, you don't just share a workplace. You share pieces of your life, memories, laughter, and years that you can never get back.
Wizard fought cancer in 2017, and once he came through that battle, he was back to work as quickly as he could be. That's just who he was. He was determined, dependable, and never one to let something keep him down if he could help it. When cancer came back this year, he faced another fight that none of us ever wanted him to have to face.
It's hard to put into words what someone means when they've been part of your family and your everyday life for so long. There are people you know you can never replace, and Wizard was one of those people. His spot will never be filled because there was only one Wizard, and the world is a little less special without him in it.
Our hearts ache for his wife, children, and grandchildren. We know that no words can take away the pain of losing someone so deeply loved, but we hope they always know how much he meant to the people around him. We pray they find comfort in the memories, the stories, and the love that will forever be a part of them.
Wizard, you will be missed more than words can ever say. Thank you for the years of friendship, the memories, and the privilege of having you as part of our lives. You were never just a coworker. You were our family, and that will never change.
