With cooler weather approaching, the insulation behind the walls and ceilings is worth paying attention to, especially in a new build.
For this home in Tullahoma, our crew installed R-13 fiberglass batts in the exterior walls, 14” of blown insulation in the attic, R-38 batts in the flat ceilings, and 6” open-cell spray foam in the vaulted ceiling. The garage received R-13 wall batts and R-19 ceiling batts, along with caulking and window-and-door foam prep work.
Every area has its own insulation requirements, and getting those details addressed during construction helps prepare the home for the seasons ahead.
