Congratulations to our scholarship winner, Laasya! Each year, James Martin Associates recognizes students who show outstanding promise in their college journey.

While attending Vernon Hills High School, Laasya served as Co-President of Girls Who Code, Vice President of the Computer Science Club, and a peer tutor. Passionate about STEM and equity in technology, Laasya plans to pursue a career as a software engineer/programmer creating systems that make a meaningful impact.

World Landscape Architecture Month is a great time to highlight the process behind the work we do. Here’s a look at landscape architecture in action from a recent project.

This project came together through close collaboration and constant communication with the architect and builder, with strict impervious surface codes shaping both the home and landscape design. Every space was planned with purpose. The terraces are tailored for entertaining and designed around specific furniture layouts. Working alongside the interior designer, the team developed creative solutions to maximize functionality while meeting code requirements.

From plant selections that frame and screen views to thoughtful layout decisions, every detail was intentional. The result is a space that blends beauty, usability, and smart design, built to be enjoyed for years to come.
