We're passionate about cultivating a love for nature and proudly champion school's from all over Wi annual plant sales event, igniting a lifelong passion for horticulture and landscaping in the next generation of innovators. This exceptional initiative empowers us to enrich their educational journey. Though direct sharing wasn't possible, an attached screenshot captures the essence. Our family has lovingly nurtured three hibiscus and mandevilla plants acquired from these sales, and they are flourishing. We're overjoyed witnessing these young budding green thumbs grow. We enthusiastically endorse connecting with these emerging talents. Thank you for your time have a great day!

Old timers did not wait on weather apps. Farmers watched the trees, the blooms, and the bees. Nature has been running the planting calendar a whole lot longer than we have.

Here is the old school way to know it is time.

1️⃣ Daffodils bloom
Plant peas, spinach, and lettuce. Soil around 40 to 45 degrees.

2️⃣ Forsythia turns bright yellow
Plant potatoes and onion sets. Ground is workable.

3️⃣ Red maples bloom
Direct sow carrots, beets, and chard.

4️⃣ Oak leaves the size of a squirrel’s ear
Plant sweet corn. Soil near 55 degrees.

5️⃣ Lilacs bloom
Transplant cabbage and broccoli.

6️⃣ Apple trees blossom
Plant bush beans and cucumbers once frost risk drops.

7️⃣ Dogwoods bloom
Set tomatoes with protection or wait for warmer nights.

8️⃣ Dandelions cover the yard
Plant squash and pumpkins after frost danger passes.

9️⃣ Iris bloom
Time for peppers and eggplant if soil is warm.

🔟 Blackberries leaf out
Plant okra and melons. The true heat lovers.

The old ways still work if you slow down enough to watch. What bloom tells you it is time to plant?

Don’t pull the dandelions — they’re food for friends with wings. 💛🐝

It looks messy from the ground — but it’s a carefully built shelter.
Winter nests like dreys keep wildlife alive through freezing weather.

• Squirrels build dreys using woven leaves and twigs as a strong outer shell
• The inside is lined with soft materials for insulation and wind protection
• These nests stay significantly warmer than the outside air during cold snaps
• Pruning in winter can destroy active shelter and expose families to predators
• Removing nests forces animals to burn critical energy rebuilding in the cold

Delay tree trimming until spring whenever possible.
A “cleanup” can erase an entire winter home in seconds.
