When you picture your new kitchen, do you see the countertops first, or the pantry?
Most people see the finishes. But the kitchens homeowners are building now start somewhere else. In Houzz's latest Kitchen Trends Study, 76% of renovating homeowners added specialty built-ins, and pantry cabinets topped the list.
Here's why that matters. A pantry wall, a deep drawer bank or a longer island all need room. That room has to come from the layout, which means it gets decided before cabinet colors and hardware.
