Farm Updates (probably too long but it’s been a while):
We have focused on our garden and eating, prepping, drying etc our foods for the winter. But, the seasons are starting to change and it’s truly one of my favorites! We’ve enjoyed our garden, harvesting zinnias and sunflowers for our table, and our apples and pears 🍐 The boys are excited to begin harvesting their Indian corn! 🌽 As always, everything we grow is something we can eat and grown organically and the corn varieties they chose are no different... 🐛 Some meal corn, flour corn and popcorn 🍿 with the hopes to teach the boys how to process them after they continue to dry. J is showing the trellising beans for his 3 sisters method which are not ready yet but doing their thing and hopefully will offer some options for dried beans this winter also! The corn the boys planted with our campers in MAY are still not ready but look good so far! 🦋 Also, our native wildflower plot has come back super amazingly! Full of blooms way over our head with SO MANY different butterflies that the boys are enjoying watching and identifying and also, our vital workers on the farm- lady bugs! 🐞 You can see the tops of our blueberry trees in the wildflower plot video and they are beginning to change colors! 🍂 Fall is surely on its way! Anyone else love fall? What’s your favorite part of fall?!
