A bigger house doesn’t always mean a better home.

It’s easy to get caught up in square footage. More rooms. More space. A bigger number on paper.

But the best homes aren’t designed around square footage. They’re designed around the people who live in them.

Think about how your family spends time together. Do you host Thanksgiving every year? Do you picture kids running through the house after school? Do you love quiet mornings with a cup of coffee or weekends filled with friends and family?

Those are the questions that shape a home you’ll love for years.

Every room should have a purpose. Every space should make life a little easier, a little more comfortable, and a little more meaningful for your family.

A home that fits your life will always feel bigger than one that’s simply built bigger.

Would you rather have more square footage or a home that’s designed exactly for the way your family lives?

The way we work matters just as much as the work itself.
It’s easy to measure success by the finished home. The beautiful kitchen. The craftsmanship. The details.
But those things are built long before the final walkthrough.
They’re built in the way people treat each other on the jobsite. In the respect shown to trade partners. In the conversations with homeowners. In choosing to give every task the same care, whether anyone notices it or not.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” Colossians 3:23
That verse is a reminder that excellence isn’t about recognition. It’s about serving others faithfully through the work that’s been entrusted to us.
A home is never built by one person. It’s built by many hands working toward the same purpose, and every person deserves to know they’re valued.
What does this verse mean to you in your own work?

The finishing touches are just getting started, but you can already picture the memories that are going to be made here. 🤍

Cookies on the counter, kids gathered around the island, family dinners and friends stopping by.

This is the stuff that puts a fire in our soul. Of course we love seeing all the beautiful finishes come together, but even more than that, we love thinking about the life that’s going to happen here.

A house is pretty special, but getting to build the place someone will call home is even better.

One of the biggest questions homeowners have while building is…“Are we still on budget?”

It’s a fair question. A custom home has a lot of moving pieces, and without clear communication, it can be easy to feel unsure about where things stand.

That’s why having a clear budget tracking process matters.

Throughout the build, homeowners have access to their budget through Buildertrend, allowing them to see where they started, where they currently stand, and how decisions impact the overall project.

Having that information available helps families make confident decisions instead of feeling like they’re guessing along the way.

Building a home is a big investment. You deserve to understand where every decision fits into the bigger picture.

Sometimes it’s easy to believe everyone else is getting there before you.

A family shares their excavation photos. Another posts their cabinets. Someone else is choosing paint colors, and suddenly it feels like everyone is building except you.

But every home has a story that started long before the first shovel touched the ground.

There were years of dreaming. Plans that changed. Sacrifices that no one else saw. Prayers whispered in quiet moments. Small, faithful decisions that slowly led them where they are today.

Building a home isn’t just about what happens on the jobsite. It’s about the journey that brought a family there.

So if you’re still waiting, don’t measure your chapter against someone else’s highlight.

Keep dreaming. Keep preparing. Keep trusting the timing. The right home is worth waiting for, and every story unfolds a little differently.

What chapter are you in right now?

The wrong size light fixture can throw off an entire room.

It doesn’t matter how beautiful the finishes are. If the fixture is too small, the space can feel out of proportion without you even realizing why.

Here’s an easy rule to get you started:
Add the length and width of the room together. That number, in inches, is a good guideline for the diameter of your light fixture.

For example:
12’ × 12’ room = 24’
A 24 inch fixture is usually the right fit.

From there, think about your ceiling height and the furniture below it. Those details can influence whether you should size up.

If you’re debating between two sizes, choose the larger one. Most homeowners wish they had gone bigger, not smaller.

Have you ever installed a light fixture that ended up looking smaller than you expected?
