Sometimes solving a problem means catching it before it actually becomes one.
We had a cabinet delivery coming up for a project, and the shipping company waits for approval before sending the truck out from the final warehouse. At the same time, our team was working on the door scope for that same project. Because we were already involved with the doors, we knew the room designated to receive the cabinets wasnāt going to be available when originally expected. The door material was still occupying the space.
That gave us a heads-up before the cabinets ever got on the road.
When the shipping company called for approval to release the cabinet delivery, instead of sending the truck as scheduled and figuring it out when it arrived, we asked them to hold the shipment for one more day. By the next day, the space was ready, the delivery could be received properly, and the cabinets went where they were supposed to go.
No truck arriving with nowhere to unload.
No cabinets sitting somewhere they shouldnāt.
No last-minute scramble on site.
It was a small adjustment, but itās also a good example of why having multiple scopes coordinated through one team can make a difference. We knew what was happening with the doors, so we could make a better decision about the cabinets.
Sometimes the best problem to solve is the one you see coming.
