This is a blower door test — one of the most telling diagnostics we run at Nautilus Home Management. We pressurize the home from the inside, then use fog to visualize the air, escaping through gaps in the building envelope. Every plume you see is a leak point: a place where conditioned air is getting out and humid, unconditioned air is getting in.
Why does this matter?
Because uncontrolled air leakage is one of the leading hidden causes of elevated indoor humidity. And humidity is the precursor to almost everything homeowners dread: mold, mildew, musty odors, warped, trim, and premature wear on HVAC systems working overtime to compensate.
This is the standard we hold every home to: don’t guess, diagnose. Building envelopes are invisible systems until you make them visible and once you can see the problem, you can actually solve it — not just treat the symptoms.
If your home has stubborn humidity, musty smells or comfort issues that don’t add up, this is where we’d start.
