Amy Trowman Design

Amy Trowman Design From the mountains of Montana to the South Carolina coast, Amy has always aimed to bring the outdoors in with interior design.

Born to a custom home builder in Indianapolis, Indiana, Amy developed a keen eye for design at an early age. Over the better part of 15 years, she has worked as a Designer in Montana, Indiana, and South Carolina, where she has called Mount Pleasant home for over a decade. Her portfolio includes resort bungalows in the Bahamas, barrier island residences and turn of the century Charleston singles. W

orking both internationally and locally, Amy'’s personal aesthetic lends to casual, eclectic, and bohemian appeal for residential, resort, and commercial interiors—always keeping her clients’ visions forefront. Amy has created tropical outdoor living spaces, island casual interiors, eclectic wordly interiors and clean, modern designs in some of the most sought after addresses. Amy'’s interior design work has been featured in many publications from Charleston Magazine to Charleston Home and Design. She has built and maintains strong relationships with builders, architects, and contractors within the Charleston community and enjoys the collaborative work she’'s experienced. Because of these relationships and resources, Amy can complete any size project, from large commercial to small design consultation. Taking in the South Carolina shoreline with her husband and two young daughters fills Amy’'s time away from work. From boating through the Intracoastal Waterway to exploring the Lowcountry, Amy and her family set out to seize all that beautiful South Carolina has to offer.

Game tables are having a moment. ♣️

From card tables to mahjong, they’re being beautifully designed to function as more than just a place to play. These spaces are layered, intentional, and seamlessly integrated into the home, making them just as suited for everyday living as they are for gathering.

A thoughtful addition that brings both purpose and personality into the design.

Refined coastal living 🤍

Clean lines, warm wood cabinetry, and soft natural light create a space that feels both elevated and effortless. A warm, serene setting, especially as you look out toward the ocean.

It’s a space designed for slow mornings, family dinners, and everything in between.

One of our recent completed projects on Isle of Palms, a true coastal escape.

Designed for island living, this home centers around the details that make everyday life here feel easy. Expansive porches that invite in the ocean breeze, open concept living that brings the kitchen, dining, and gathering spaces into one, and a design that naturally brings the outside in, from the ocean to the interior.

A listening room on the top floor offers a fun added space with ocean views, while one of our favorite touches is the art collection featuring local artists, thoughtfully woven throughout the home.

A calming coastal retreat, and a project we truly loved being a part of.

Practical & pretty.

This sitting area with a wet bar creates the perfect spot to relax and chat, blending comfort with function in a way that feels effortless.

Spaces like this are a reminder that every area in a home can be used with intention, designed not just to look beautiful, but to truly be lived in.

We’re loving this herringbone install at one of our Isle of Palms projects.

A classic pattern that adds just the right amount of movement and detail to the space while keeping the overall look clean and timeless.

Exterior details from our Wild Dunes project.

The exterior is the first impression, but it’s the finishes that truly define it. From the softness of the natural wood underfoot to the subtle texture of the shingle siding and the contrast of the metal lighting, every element was selected with intention and restraint.

A layered palette, thoughtful materials, and clean lines come together to create an exterior that feels refined, coastal, and quietly impactful.

A touch of blue, thoughtfully placed.

This kitchen leans into a palette that feels both timeless and bold, where softer neutrals meet just enough color to create depth without overwhelming the space. The result is a look that feels beautifully balanced, refined, and quietly confident.

Proof that sometimes it only takes one element to shift the entire design.
