This morning, our team had the opportunity to participate in the Mount Horeb Area School District “Business in Our Backyard” event! We met with two groups of 8th-grade students to talk about the many career opportunities within the construction industry.

From drafting and project management to carpentry and field work, we shared how many different paths and skill sets come together to bring projects to life. Students also got the chance to jump into a fun hammering challenge, adding a little friendly competition to the day!

A big thank you to the school district, staff, and students for having us. We’re always excited to support the next generation as they explore future careers and discover the possibilities within the trades.

We recently completed a primary bathroom remodel for a returning client who was ready to transform both the function and feel of their space. The existing layout featured a small modular shower and a sunken corner tub, elements that no longer suited their needs. Our goal was to create a more spacious, accessible, and user-friendly design.

We removed both the shower and tub to make way for a larger walk-in shower, dramatically improving usability and flow. The client selected clean white tile complemented by a striking blue accent wall, adding both brightness and personality. This tile design was thoughtfully extended throughout the shower and carried across the wall area around the tub as a cohesive backsplash feature.

To complete the update, we installed new countertops and sinks on the existing vanity, giving the space a refreshed, modern finish without a full replacement.

Our most recently completed project was a full renovation of an existing home. Exterior upgrades, including new siding, windows, and doors, significantly enhanced the home’s curb appeal.

Inside, we reimagined the layout to create a more functional and inviting flow. At the client’s request, we swapped the locations of the kitchen and primary bedroom. This transformation allowed for an abundance of natural light to fill the new kitchen space, making it a bright and welcoming centerpiece of the home.

Additionally, the former sunken living room was reframed and converted into a spacious walk-in closet, complete with generous storage and an integrated laundry area.

The homeowner also embraced incorporating old, unique pieces throughout the remodel. Blending these character-rich elements with the updated design created distinctive focal points that add warmth, personality, and a sense of history you simply can’t replicate with new materials alone.

We are so lucky to have Logan on our team!👷🏻🔨

February is Career and Technical Education Month. We want to spotlight our Seniors who are working as Youth Apprentices while going to school. A Youth Apprentice must work 450 hours per year in their job and have a class in their schedule related to their job.

Logan Lickel works at Premier Building Solutions in Mount Horeb. He is currently working on a CDL Prep Course and plans to get his CDL this spring or summer. After graduation Logan will continue working with Premier Building Solutions and hopes to become a Registered Apprentice there. Best of luck, Logan!

This custom home began as a vision in late 2021, when the homeowners purchased their property and started dreaming about what could be built there. In 2024, the clients returned ready to bring that vision fully to life, committed to building a forever home designed for comfort, function, and connection to the surrounding countryside.

The exterior reflects a modern Prairie influence, with strong horizontal lines, warm wood accents, and clean contemporary detailing that feels both grounded and timeless. Inside, thoughtful design choices set the tone: warm wood flooring, cherry cabinetry in two complementary stains, large-format tile, and expansive ceiling heights that draw in natural light and frame sweeping rural views.

This project is a true reflection of collaboration, patience, and thoughtful design, resulting in a home that feels deeply personal and built to serve for generations to come. A huge thank you to everyone who made this magnificent house possible!

Another stunning bathroom remodel is complete!
As their family grew, our long-time clients were ready to transform their main bathroom into a space that better supported daily life. A larger vanity and an easier, more open shower were top priorities. By removing an underused closet and adding open shelving at the exterior wall, we were able to accommodate a full-size tub with a flat ceiling, eliminating the cramped feel created by the original angled roofline. Recessed specialty cabinets maximize storage, and the vibrant tile adds character, resulting in a bathroom that is both highly functional and inviting.
