It is sad to see it go, but I am proud to have helped keep our community safe.

This giant oak tree suffered from serious root damage and a carpenter ant infestation.

They decided to leave the trunk to make a carving out of it. If you know anyone who does chainsaw carvings and has a portfolio they can share please tag them here and I will send their info to the library

Young Masters Tree Service — Quality Is Measured by Moisture, Not Months!

While some companies season their firewood for 8–12 months or longer, at Young Masters Tree Service, we believe HOW you season firewood matters more than HOW LONG it sits.

We've developed a stacking and seasoning process that allows us to produce properly seasoned hardwood in as little as 2–3 months under favorable conditions.

🌳 Freshly Cut, Quickly Split: Approximately 90% of our firewood comes from live, standing trees. We typically split it within days of removal, allowing the drying process to begin immediately.

☀️ Strategically Positioned for Sunlight: Our racks run north to south, allowing the morning sun to reach the eastern side, midday sunlight to warm the exposed tops, and afternoon sun to reach the western side.

💨 West-to-East Airflow: Our prevailing winds travel from west to east, passing through our north-to-south stacks. We intentionally leave gaps between every piece to maximize airflow and moisture evaporation.

🪵 Elevated & Uncovered: Our racks sit approximately 10 inches above the ground and remain uncovered. This promotes ventilation, reduces trapped moisture, and helps prevent the surface mold we've experienced when covering stacks.

📏 Moisture Tested, Not Calendar Tested: We regularly measure exterior moisture levels of 5–10%, with interior readings of 18% or less on tested, properly seasoned pieces. Some of our hardwood reaches these levels in just a few months!

🔥 Cut for YOUR Needs: From smaller 3-inch splits for easier handling to larger hardwood pieces for longer-lasting fires, we accommodate our customers' preferences.

💥 HERE'S THE DIFFERENCE:
Just because another company stacks firewood for a year doesn't automatically mean it's better than ours.
A year of poor storage doesn't beat a few months of proper seasoning.

We don't rush our firewood. We create the conditions that allow it to season efficiently, then use moisture measurements to evaluate the results.

Our process may be different, but that doesn't make our product inferior. In many cases, we believe our methods produce a cleaner, more consistently seasoned, and potentially superior product.
