🐷 GOOD FOOD. GREAT PEOPLE. ONE AWESOME AFTERNOON.

This past weekend, the Canyon family traded jobsites, meetings and deadlines for an afternoon dedicated to something just as important, spending time together and having some fun!

This year, we kicked off a new Canyon tradition while keeping some of the best parts of the old ones alive — bringing our employees and their families together, stepping away from the day-to-day, and giving everyone a chance to mingle, catch up and enjoy each other’s company outside of work.

From face painting by Pixie Dust Creations 🎨, soccer games ⚽ to mechanical bull rides 🐂, KONA ICE 🍧, fresh oysters 🦪 and an incredible spread from RK Catering — there was no shortage of food, laughs or friendly competition.

Most importantly, it was an afternoon to celebrate the people who make Canyon what it is. We’re incredibly grateful for our employees and their families and everything they contribute to our team throughout the year.

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped us celebrate in true Canyon fashion! 🧡

🏗️ PROJECT UPDATE | EASTGATE – ANNANDALE, VA

Another Canyon project taking shape in Northern Virginia!

Eastgate is a 442,650 SF mixed-use development featuring 270 apartment units, more than 11,000 SF of retail space, residential amenities, and a five-and-a-half-level parking garage.

The building is a 5-over-1 podium structure, with five stories of wood-framed residential construction above a single-story concrete podium. Canyon Contracting’s scope included the foundation and structural concrete work at the podium level, helping create the foundation and support for everything taking shape above.

Once complete, the podium level will house retail space, residential amenities, leasing offices, and residential units, along with a landscaped courtyard and pool.

We’re proud to put Canyon concrete at the foundation of another growing Northern Virginia community. 💪🔴⚫

👷‍♂️ HARD HATS ON. FUTURES IN THE MAKING.

Yesterday, the Canyon Contracting team had the opportunity to join the Maryland Center for Construction Education & Innovation (MCCEI) at M&T Bank Stadium for Construction Career Day!

More than 1,000 students from 35 schools came together to get a hands-on look at the many career paths available throughout the construction industry — and we were proud to be one of the 35 industry firms helping make that experience possible.

Events like this are about more than introducing students to construction. They’re about showing the next generation just how many opportunities exist in our industry — from the field to project management, engineering, estimating and beyond.

A huge thank you to MCCEI, the volunteers, fellow industry partners and everyone who helped make the day such a success!

📍 Next stop: We’ll be back with MCCEI at Frederick Keys Stadium on October 22nd!

We’re looking forward to another opportunity to connect with students and help build the future of our industry. 💪🔴⚫
