I wanted to do a Poe portrait for quite some time. This is my first work after moving into my new studio.

My painting has been on hold while I started packing up my studio. During the holidays it was obvious that my current studio just wasn’t working for me and I needed more space. I dreaded packing up all of my art supplies. It’s amazing what one accumulates after 25 years. While I’ll miss the beautiful pink Rose of Sharon growing outside my window, it will be nice to have more space for my easels. Having a dedicated area for oil painting and one for pastels will allow me to work on two paintings at the same time and be more productive. After a week of moving furniture almost everything is moved in and only a couple of cabinets need to be moved out so I can set up my studio.
