Memorial Day weekend brought nonstop rain… but our Poseidon Ebb & Flow system never skipped a beat.

After TWO straight days of heavy rain, the arena remains fully rideable with not a single puddle in sight. That’s the difference a true all-weather system makes.

No standing water. No washed out footing. Just consistent performance engineered from the ground up.

A true Ebb & Flow arena only works if it’s built with a FULL subsurface grid BELOW the base layer.

Why? Because full evacuation can only happen when water is pulled evenly from beneath the entire arena — not trapped inside the base or around perimeter drains.

Our patent-pending Poseidon Ebb & Flow system uses rigid perforated PVC pipe throughout the grid. Corrugated pipe can crush, clog, and restrict evacuation over time due to its ribbed interior and inconsistent flow.

Water rising evenly from below the surface is also the only way to create true consistency across the entire ring. Unlike overhead irrigation affected by wind, evaporation, and uneven coverage, moisture rises uniformly from the base level up.

The result:
• Faster, more even evacuation
• Uniform moisture across the arena
• Longer footing life
• More consistent performance ride after ride

The system below the surface is what defines the surface above it.

Most footing on the market was designed for overhead irrigation — not Ebb & Flow systems.

That means the sand profile, sieve sizes, and fiber/geotextile quantities must be engineered differently for proper long-term performance.

Over-fibered footing in an Ebb & Flow arena can hold too much moisture, create inconsistency, reduce drainage efficiency, and shorten the lifespan of the surface.

A true Ebb & Flow footing blend should be designed specifically for subsurface moisture movement through capillary action — creating a more consistent, stable, and longer-lasting riding surface.

Not all footing works the same just because water is involved.

Fence is nearing completion—just waiting on the liner so we can kick off installation of this client’s Ebb & Flow system.

Alongside the outdoor, we’ll be installing a fully integrated indoor Ebb & Flow system, paired with a dehumidification setup to control moisture levels and protect the structure—while still delivering a true 5-star riding surface year-round.

Big credit to for the incredible work on this brand-new barn and indoor. This one is going to be special.

System is fully stabilized.
Moisture is now evenly distributed from the bottom up, eliminating all inconsistencies. The result—uniform color, balanced footing, and optimal performance across the entire ring.

After completing this late last season, we held off on filling the Poseidon Ebb & Flow system at GatewayFarm here on Long Island due to the approaching winter.

This ring is finished with SRS blend and marks what we believe to be the first Ebb & Flow arena on Long Island at a public facility.

The coloration difference you’re seeing is the sand’s capillary action pulling moisture up from below and dispersing it evenly across the surface. As the system balances, the ring will settle into a uniform color—delivering consistent, perfect moisture throughout.

Be sure to come out for their first show on 4/26/26 to experience the ring firsthand—and see the incredible transformation underway as this facility is brought back to life.
