This basement bathroom looked clean at first glance.
No giant black patches. No flooded floor. No overwhelming smell.
But the homeowner kept noticing a faint musty odor that wouldn’t go away. Once we started pulling the flooring up, we found mold growth spreading underneath the floorboards and along the base of the walls.
This is exactly why hidden moisture problems are such a headache in Dayton and the Miami Valley. Water gets trapped underneath flooring, behind trim, and inside wall cavities long before homeowners realize there’s a real issue.
By the time you SEE mold, the problem has usually been there awhile.
If your basement smells musty after rain, humidity swings, plumbing leaks, or past water damage, it’s worth getting checked before the damage spreads further.
