One man. One trencher. One dream.
Before Mighty Services had crews across multiple states, a fleet of equipment, or a home base in Mooresville, North Carolina, there was Mike Rhoades.
And one trencher.
Mike had spent years learning the telecommunications industry from the ground up. He knew the work. He knew the long days. He knew what it took to get a job done right.
Then he made the decision to bet on himself.
Mighty Services started out of Mike’s home, with a small shop, limited resources, and one piece of equipment that had to keep running because there wasn’t another one waiting in the yard.
Back then, there wasn’t a team for Mike to call.
He was the team.
He operated the equipment.
He maintained it.
He handled the jobs.
He answered the phone.
He scheduled the work.
He took care of the paperwork.
And when the workday in the field ended, the work of building a business kept going.
There was no shortcut. No overnight success story.
Just one job. Then another.
One customer who trusted him. Then another.
One piece of equipment became two.
A one-man operation became a crew.
A crew became a company.
And that company became Mighty Services.
Today, Mighty has grown far beyond that small shop, with its home base in Mooresville and operations expanding throughout North Carolina, Virginia, and South Carolina.
But you can’t really understand what Mighty is today without understanding where it started.
Because Mike knows what it feels like to sit in the equipment seat.
He knows what it means when something breaks down and the job still has to get done.
He knows the pressure of keeping a customer happy, keeping work moving, and figuring out what comes next.
He knows because he lived it.
And while Mighty has grown, that mentality never left.
Show up. Work hard. Take care of your people. Take care of your customers. Do the job right.
Twenty years later, there are more people.
More equipment.
More territory.
More opportunities.
But underneath all of it is still the work ethic of the guy who started with one trencher and decided to see just how far he could take it.
Turns out, pretty far.
One man. One trencher. One dream.
And he built something Mighty.
Because even twenty years later, Mighty Makes It Happen.
