🚨 **FREON LEAK FOUND!** 🚨

This is exactly why a proper HVAC diagnosis matters.

During today’s service call, we performed a thorough leak search and located a **refrigerant leak in the outdoor condenser coil**. The video shows the leak detector reacting directly at the source.

When an A/C system is low on refrigerant, simply adding more Freon isn’t always the answer. **Refrigerant doesn’t get “used up.”** If a system is low, there’s a reason — and finding that reason can save the homeowner from repeatedly paying to recharge a leaking system.

Sometimes it’s more than just a dirty coil.

This older outdoor unit has years of buildup, but the bigger concern is the severe deterioration of the condenser coil. The aluminum fins are corroded, brittle, and beginning to fall apart. These fins are responsible for transferring heat out of the refrigerant, and once they deteriorate, the system loses efficiency and cooling capacity.

Because of the coil’s age and fragile condition, even professional cleaning cannot restore the missing metal—and aggressive washing could cause further damage. The system may continue operating, but it will work harder, use more electricity, and face a greater risk of overheating or compressor failure.

At this stage, replacement should be considered instead of investing heavily in an aging system with a deteriorating coil.

🔥 It's HOT Out There, Montgomery! 🔥

Another failed capacitor today! This one was completely done for—testing only 0.016 µF where it should have been around 45 µF. After replacing it with a new capacitor, it tested at 45.51 µF, restoring proper operation and getting the customer's A/C back up and running.

When outdoor temperatures climb into the upper 90s and the heat index pushes well over 100°F, your air conditioner works harder than any other time of the year. Weak capacitors are one of the most common causes of no-cool service calls because the extreme heat accelerates their failure.
