Excited to share that SS&A’s Project Manager and Architect, Simon Hurst, hosted a seminar titled “Betting on Resilience – Designing in the Pacific” at this year’s AIA Alabama Conference on Architecture in Perdido Beach, AL, held October 2–4, 2026.

The conference welcomed nearly 235 design professionals, more than 45 exhibitors, and offered a wide range of learning opportunities. We’re proud to see Simon contribute his expertise on resilient design to such a strong gathering of industry professionals.

🎉 Please join us in congratulating Travis Krimmel, AIA, on being named one of Building Design+Construction's 2026 40 Under 40!

This national honor recognizes leadership, innovation, and impact across the AEC industry, and Travis brings all three. He has led complex DoD and healthcare projects, helped build SS&A's PATH mentorship program, and served as AIA Montgomery President. With 13 years in the Alabama Army National Guard, Travis has held key leadership positions across multiple deployments, and he brings that mission-oriented perspective to every project he touches. Through all of it, he invests in his projects, his colleagues, and his profession.

We're proud to see the new Advanced Responder Training Complex open its doors in Anniston! 🎉

SS&A designed the renovation of this 43,262 SF facility for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District and the Center for Domestic Preparedness, with our project management team guiding it from design through construction. Our architecture and interior design team transformed a 1970s Fort McClellan building into a modern training center, with a new auditorium, classrooms, a wet-environment classroom, a media studio, and a student welcome center. Our structural and civil engineers supported new courtyard infill and site improvements, and behind the walls we designed all-new mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire protection, and telecommunications systems. We also brought the building into full accessibility compliance for the first time.

It's rewarding to know first responders from across the country will train in a space our team helped create. Congratulations to everyone who made this day happen!

We’re thrilled to share that SS&A Design Collective’s Interior Design Department has been awarded the 2026 3form Best Multi-Application Project Award as part of the 3form Install Contest!

This national competition celebrates innovative, high-quality installations that elevate space through 3form’s architectural resin, glass, and acoustic solutions. We’re honored to be recognized among such inspiring work.

Our winning submission, the FEMA CDP Training Center located in Anniston, Alabama, showcases how thoughtful material integration can transform diverse environments into a cohesive, high-performing experience.

A huge thank you to 3form for this recognition, our incredible design team, and project partners for bringing this vision to life.

Congratulations to Caleb Rudolph, PE, on earning his RCDD certification!

The Registered Communications Distribution Designer credential is BICSI's flagship certification for information and communications technology design, covering telecommunications infrastructure, pathways and spaces, cabling systems, and the codes and standards that govern them. It requires documented project experience and a rigorous exam — and paired with Caleb's professional engineering license, it's a combination that not many designers hold.

Caleb has spent his career at SS&A designing telecommunications and electrical systems for federal healthcare and DoD facilities — voice and data distribution, wireless access points, nurse call, intercom, access control, and video security, on everything from VA laboratory renovations to replacement ambulatory care centers.

Congratulations, Caleb. Well earned!

A Major Milestone for MCRD San Diego! 🏗️🎉

It’s exciting to see the MCRD San Diego Ambulatory Care Center reach this important topping-out milestone! SS&A is proud to have served as Designer of Record for this significant healthcare project as part of our Joint Venture team. Our multidisciplinary team provided design services across architecture, engineering, medical planning, interiors, and other specialized disciplines to develop the complete design-bid-build package for this new 100,526 GSF facility.

The new Ambulatory Care Center will consolidate a wide range of medical and dental services into a modern healthcare facility designed to support the health and readiness of Marine Corps recruits and active-duty personnel. We’re proud to see the vision taking shape and grateful to everyone who has contributed to bringing this important project one step closer to completion.
